Sierra Metals Inc. engages in the acquisition, exploration, extraction, production, and sale of mineral concentrates with silver, copper, lead, zinc, and gold contents in Mexico and Peru. It holds interest in Yauricocha, an underground silver-lead-zinc-copper-gold mine covering an area of approximately 18,778 hectares in western central Peru in the Yauyos province. The company also owns interest in the Bolivar project that comprises approximately 21 mining concessions covering an area of approximately 21,620 hectares in the Piedras Verdes mining district of Chihuahua, Mexico; and the Cusi project, which encompasses 60 concessions covering an area of approximately 11,319 hectares situated in Chihuahua State, Mexico. In addition, its exploration projects include the Arechuyvo, Batopilas, Maguarichic, Moris, Oribo, Bacerac, Las Coloradas, San Julian, Cerro Gordo, and East Durango projects in Mexico. The company was formerly known as Dia Bras Exploration Inc. and changed its name to Sierra Metals Inc. in December 2012. Sierra Metals Inc. was incorporated in 1996 and is headquartered in Vancouver, Canada.
